Youtube Content ID Label Approval

SinfoniaSublime Distribution

Last Update a year ago

Due to the User Generated Content nature of the YouTube service and SINFONIASUBLIME Distribution effort to fight copyright infringements and abusive usage, the distribution to Content ID will be subject to a label approval process from November 19th, 2021.

The Content ID Label Approval process is similar to any other content validation managed by SINFONIASUBLIME's Quality Control team who will check if the label meets the necessary set of requirements to be able to distribute to Content ID and monetize.

These measures are meant to smoothen the pre-distribution validation process to YouTube Content ID by pre-filtering the type and quality of content submitted by labels and artists. The objective is to get a better understanding of the labels/artists and their catalog and provide useful information that should ensure your company the distribution of a healthy catalog and make way to a successful long-term collaboration with SINFONIASUBLIME.

Below, we explain how the Label Approval Process works in 3 simple steps;

1. Procedure

2. Label Requirements

3. Term for Validation

1. Procedure

To request permission you have to to Catalog > Labels > SELECT LABEL > Permissions

Once we receive your Label Approval request notification, we will contact you via ticket or e-mail to send you a form requesting further information from your label, then SINFONIASUBLIME's QC team will review your form once you fill it all in.

Should the form be complete and minimum required criteria are met, the Label should be approved within 14 business days.

The client receives approval or rejection confirmation via ticket.

2. Label requirements

NOTE: You can only request this permission if your label is on SINFONIASUBLIME's platform and the label has a minimum of 500 €/$ generated on main DSPs for a considerable period (minimum 3 months).

Below, we explain in detail each field in the form;

  • Brief catalog description and artists’ roster/list

This information should be available on the Label tab on SINFONIASUBLIME's platform.

  • Share a description

Any information that can support and explain the plan and trajectory of a label will be useful. Moreover, mention Artists that are going to be represented by your label, or already are.

  • Official video content available on YouTube (links)

Artists represented by the label should already have their own content available on YouTube (videoclips, live performances, etc.) Share Links of official channels and videos - a minimum of the 50% of the artists represented has to be indicated as well as proven previous distribution to other DSPs, not just YouTube.

The label should already have distributed the content to other DSPs through SINFONIASUBLIME (at least main channels like Spotify and Apple Music).

  • Verified profiles on digital stores and streaming services

A legitimate label should have profiles verified on the main stores, as well as of its artists. Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer label verified profile as well as artist page - A legitimate label should have profiles verified on the main stores and streaming services, as well as of its artists links.

  • Label and Artists Social Media Links

Any label and its artist who's big enough to need protection of their content on YouTube should have social media presence with healthy organic behaviour. A minimum of the 50% of the artists represented by your label.

Is this content going to be promoted online?

This is a very important information since some pitching services can lead to abusive behaviours/click fraud/artificial streaming, therefore we highly recommend to warn your artists.

Please share relevant information, for example, what is the PR Company you work with, the type of services you buy in order to promote your music, etc.

As a client, by submitting the form you declare that you have reviewed the information, which is verified and true.

3. Term for Validation

Once you submit your form to us, it can take up to 14 business days to validate a label request.

The review and validation is strictly related to:

- Consistency and entirety of the information shared via the form: the information has to be complete.

- A minimum of 500 €/$ generated on main DSPs for a considerable period (minimum 3 months) is a minimum requirement.

- The artist/label account has no fraud issues.

It's in the label's best interest to fill the form providing as much detailed information as possible in order to help with verification. In case of incomplete or missing information in the form, the verification is not guaranteed. Moreover, in the case of information not meeting the minimum requirements (ie. revenue lower than requested), the request will likely be rejected.
